My Introduction

Hello, and thank you for visiting!
My name is Elaine
(My middle name, by the way).
My career is in the area public safety radio communications. I was the manager of the City of San Jose's Two-Way Radio Communications Program, though I am retired as of January 2006
Radio Communications became an interest area while in high school. Both of my parents were in radio communications during WWII and both were in the NAVY. I sort of grew up with a pair of headphones stuck on my head and loved shortwave listening and monitoring military communications activity on the HF frequency band, 3.0 through 30 MHz.
I self-studied and obtained a Commercial FCC RadioTelephone License in 1971.
Hobby became a career, starting in 1976 when I became a communications repair technician with a local Mororola Service Station (MSS) in San Jose, California. I've been with public safety agencies for the past 26 years.
I studied and obained an FCC amateur radio license when in high school in 1964.
My current callsign is WA6UBE.
